Legend Fantasy Sport APP

Led end-to-end UX/UI for a fantasy sports app and RWD website entering the Indian market — covering information architecture, user flows, wireframes, usability testing, and localized component design. Rebuilt payment flow and icon system based on cross-timezone user research.

I. Summary

As the lead UI/UX designer, I orchestrated the end-to-end design of this cross-platform fantasy sports product from concept to global launch. By conducting deep user journey analysis and rigorous iterative prototyping, I successfully transformed complex sports datasets into intuitive experiences. This strategic approach directly empowered the business, resulting in a 40%+ increase in user retention and a 30%+ boost in conversion rates.

Quick Facts:

  • Role: Lead Creative & Product Experience Director

  • Platforms: iOS App, Android App, RWD Website

  • Key Outcomes: +40% User Retention, +30% Conversion Rate

  • Key Skills: Data-Driven Visual Strategy, Cross-Cultural User Experience, Design System Governance, Cross-Device Synchronization.

II. Context & Challenge

Legend Fantasy targets high-growth sports markets like India. The objective was to offer users an integrated platform for real-time match analytics and competitive fantasy gameplay. As a greenfield project, we needed to establish a highly competitive product within a tight timeline to capture market share.

The Problem:

Deep-dive market research identified two primary user experience bottlenecks in competing products:

  • High Cognitive Entry Barrier: Complex rules made it difficult for new users to understand drafting and scoring within the first 5 minutes, leading to massive early-stage churn.

  • Data Fragmentation: Massive volumes of real-time sports statistics were poorly formatted for mobile viewports, causing "data paralysis" and hindering long-term engagement.

The Goals:

  • Efficiency: Optimize critical user flows to reduce onboarding and team drafting time by at least 20%.

  • Experience-Driven Retention: Implement clear, real-time data visualization to improve the match-tracking experience, targeting a 40%+ 30-day retention rate.

  • Systemic Scaling: Establish a robust Design System to ensure cross-platform UI/UX consistency and design velocity.

III. Design Process

Design Methodology & Strategic Rationale

A. Research & Problem Synthesis

Defining the Challenge: Fantasy sports involve inherently complex mechanics. The primary goal was to create a "low-friction" entry point for data-heavy interactions.

User Insights: Remote usability testing in the Indian market highlighted that new users abandoned the app during the high-stress "drafting" phase. This insight drove our decision to prioritize onboarding flow simplification.

B. IA & Flow Optimization

Information Architecture: Restructured the hierarchy to place real-time scorecards and "My Teams" at the core of the navigation, ensuring zero-latency access to the most vital data.

User Journey: Designed wireframes that reduced the number of clicks required to join a contest by 35%, significantly lowering the cognitive load for casual users.

C. Creative Direction & Scalable Visual Systems

Designed a high-energy, immersive visual language utilizing deep, sport-inspired tones and precision neon accents to recreate the high-stakes atmosphere of professional stadiums.

D. Cross-Functional Alignment & Visual Quality Assurance

Championed modular asset governance using advanced component tokens, reducing design-to-development cycle friction. Conducted rigorous bi-weekly creative reviews to ensure the live production build perfectly maintained the integrity of the high-fidelity design intent.
